I bought this last year but didn't pull it out until Dec 2011. Whoa, too spring looking for the Williraye Christmas Ornaments. So I painted the light blue top and bottom of the base a "barn red" and then put little black dots around the edge to mimic the others on the base. I twisted off the flowers on the hooks, but in that process I broke one of the hooks. So I would recommend painting the flower petals red and it becomes a poinsettia. There is a heart on top. Paint it the same "barn red" or using plastic putty I put a snowman face or a star over the heart. The stand is very sturdy and the W.R. ornaments look great on it. It turned out so well that I purchased another stand because I have more ornaments that I would like to display. It didn't take very long and it was better than putting it back in the closet never to be used.
